Offer a unique experience filled with fun and excitement. When compared to a luxury liner (which caters to 300 or more), yachts operate on a much smaller scale, accommodating a maximum of 90 passengers. The smaller size of the yacht allows travel to smaller islands not accessible by bigger vessels. Exploring the islands not overwhelmed by tourist, is a great advantage and an adventure to remember.
Each stateroom on the yacht has its own TV and DVD player, you are encouraged to bring your own DVD’s as most channels (if any) work on the open water. Storage space is minimal, 2 bags per person is recommended. Be sure to pack windbreakers, sunglasses and insect repellent, all are a must have due to the many outdoor activities you will be participating in. Communication can be difficult on a yacht, cell phones won’t work until you are close to port, and e-mail is not available.
The boat is equipped with a satellite phone, but chances are, you will be charged up to $5.00 per minute to use it. Use this to your advantage, take comfort in the fact that you can’t be bothered. There are no doctors on board, however, rest assured in knowing that all crew members are CPR and first aid certified. The water sports and activities offered on a yacht is what sets it apart from bigger ships.
Here you have the freedom to go scuba diving, jet skiing, kayaking, swimming, parasailing, wake boarding, snorkeling, participate in scavenger hunts, and fishing tournaments. Sunbathing on board, relaxing in a hammock, reading in the library, or getting pampered with a massage are sure to put your mind at ease. Menus are prepared according to your specific taste, but be sure to let the captain know of any dietary restrictions you may have beforehand. Rates vary but include a “plus rate expense” and an “all-inclusive rate.” The plus rate will not cover drinks, communication cost, and other extras, the inclusive rate will include everything, even water sport rentals. Compare rates with different companies to insure you’re getting the best possible deal.
